    What's Going On?

It’s been 6 years since the tragic earthquake hit Japan, causing the 2011 Fukushima Nuclear Disaster.

Three of the reactors at the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant experienced severe meltdowns, and as a result, radioactive materials were released into the air and the ocean. This is still happening today.

It’s been 6 years…and the citizens are still suffering.

“Don’t touch the flower!” A mother in Fukushima yells out to her son, as he attempts to discover nature for the first time, because she is unsure of the radioactive harm it holds.

This mother tells us, that it is the most painful thing to introduce your child to a life of fear, but what other choice does one have?

Parents have deep concerns about bringing up their children in the Fukushima Prefecture.

You can’t see, smell or feel radiation. We, the mothers of Fukushima, are trying to protect our children from this invisible threat.

“Those of us in Fukushima are living with this invisible threat, and are concerned to raise our children here. That is why we mothers are now starting up our own citizens’ clinic.” – Fukushima Citizen and Mother

We are trying to protect our children – help us!

What Are We Doing About It?

As a first step, we have already set up a Mothers’ Radiation Lab that was able to measure radiation levels in things like vegetables, dust, soil etc.

Local parents bring their vegetables, vacuum cleaner dust, sand from the kindergarten sandpit, or soil from the school playground to our lab for checking. We measure anything and everything.

Through our lab, we are able to measure the radiation around us. But this is not enough – there is one more thing we must do.

We need to check the effect of radiation on our bodies and our minds.

That is why we need to start a health clinic next to our radiation lab so we can provide thyroid checks and blood tests for children who have been exposed to radiation.

    How Do I Help?

The specific equipment we need is an Electrocardiography machine ECG. This is $10,000.

What this machine will allow us to do is record the electrical activity of the heart using electrodes placed on the skin. These electrodes identify the small electrical changes on the skin that occur from the heart muscle's electrophysiologic pattern of depolarizing during each heartbeat.

This machine will give us the answers we need to secure a safe and happy life for our children.
